MOL to Build 4 Additional LNG-fueled Car Carriers

4 LNG-fueled car carriers (7,000-unit capacity) will be newly built through 2024 to 2025! This will bring 10 in total for MOL's orders including LNG-fueled bulkers. Compared to conventional marine fuel oil, LNG is expected to reduce emissions of CO2 by about 25%-30% and SOx by 100%.

We will be progressing towards 90 LNG-fueled Vessels by 2030 stated in MOL Group Environmental Vision 2.1. In addition to LNG-fuel, MOL continues to accelerate its initiatives on adoption of clean alternative fuels for vessels including Bio fuel and research on the use of ammonia etc., and is committed to reducing its GHG emissions.
